Farm / Studio Job

Studio Job is Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel. In conjunction, they form an idiosyncratic designer duo that has won praise from all corners of the world. Time Magazine included the duo in The Design 100. Smeets and Tynagel were both educated at the Design Academy Eindhoven. For more than ten years they have been engaged in designing exceptional objects at the interface of design and autonomous art.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Zuiderzee Museum in 2008, Studio Job designed an installation of 30 bronze and rosewood objects for this shed. Farm is characterized by its unicity, beauty, originality and its reflection on our cultural-historical heritage. The layout demonstrates the renewed interest in the countryside in both design and society.

The work of Studio Job clearly refers to the trade. User objects such as a pitchfork, bucket, boot, chicken and milk bottle have been designed in such an aesthetic way that the installation is not only a reflection of but also a tribute to rural life.
