The Amsterdam house

The front of the Amsterdam House hides a modern restaurant, the largest catering facility on the Museum’s premises. The large terrace in front of the restaurant looks out over the Outdoor Museum. The s opening times and prices elf-service restaurant offers a wide variety of confectionery, biscuits and cake, rolls, sandwiches, children’s menus and hot dishes. The Amsterdam House is opened during weekends and holidays.

Atrium

In the winter season you will find a small catering facility in the Indoor Museum, where you can enjoy coffee, tea, soft drinks and various snacks such as confectionery, biscuits, toasted sandwiches and so on. 

The Hindeloopen Pub

This small pub (Dutch: café) in the part of the Outdoor Museum called ‘Markerhaven’ welcomes all visitors who want to take the weight off their feet for a while during their tour of the museum. The pub offers a limited menu of simple refreshments such as confectionery, pancakes, French fries, toasted sandwiches and snacks. Weather permitting, the terraces at the foot of the dike and behind the pub will be opened.

Cheese Warehouse

Shelves full with cheeses of all sorts of shapes and sizes: this cheese warehouse along the town canal is a true haven for cheese lovers. The shop also has a wide variety of cheeses on offer, from creamy North Dutch cheese, to the more mature Goudse cheese and soft Edam cheese.

Coffeehouse/Confectionery

Visit the coffeehouse behind the confectionery or the terrace on the city canal and enjoy a cup of fresh coffee or tea and take your pick from all kinds of delicacies such as fresh pastry and confectionery, cakes and biscuits, various rolls, hot dishes and children’s menus. At the baker’s shop they sell delicious biscuits and pastry. Fresh fish-and-chips or a generous scoop of regionally made ice cream are available in the square. 

Sweetshop

A true haven for those of us with a sweet tooth: the sweet shop at the church. Sweets from now and then are displayed on the counter in large jars. Liquorice, toffees, liquorice root and all sorts of sugared and colourful temptations: you will know where to look if your children go missing ...

Souvenir Shop Edam

Visit the Edam souvenir shop for a nice keepsake of your visit to the Museum. It goes without saying that you will have plenty to choose from, including toys from days gone by, clogs, delft blue crockery and primers. Plus there is plenty to browse through in between the smocks, necklaces, scarves, books and much much more.
